Registration notes: The Académie Scrimicie is a historical fencing school in Québec, Canada. Members study the use of the Scottish basket-hilt broadsword. This tartan was inspired by the colours of the Académie. The highland soldiers who used Scottish basket-hilt broadswords in the Seven Years War were some of the first to wear regimental tartans and wearing this pattern whilst fencing is intended to celebrate that historic connection.
