Registration notes: A tartan for Charlottetown, the capital city of the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. The City was named after Queen Charlotte Sophia of England, wife of King George III. The City’s flag includes Queen Charlotte's brilliant burgundy crown along with the five squares that represent the greenery of Charlottetown: Queen Square, where the Father's of Confederation met; Rochford Square; Connaught Square; Hillsborough Square and Kings Square. The City was created under the City of Charlottetown Act on April 17th 1855, and this date is featured in the threadcount of the tartan. Colours: burgundy is intended to represent Queen Charlotte along with green and white for the City’s flag; blue is intended to represent the Sea and fishing industry.
