| Registration notes: |
This tartan was inspired by the romantic legacy of Robert Burns and his iconic poem, 'A Red, Red Rose', first published in 1794. Closely echoing the sett geometry of the registered tartan ‘Weave of Love (Le Tissage de l’Amour)’ (SRT #14663), it continues the same Celtic knot-inspired structure, originally shaped by the Triquetra and Celtic love knot to symbolise unity, eternity, and emotional depth. In this design, the sett is altered to evoke a red rose in bloom. The pattern intends to portray a fusion of bright scarlet and faded burnt orange threads representing layered petals, while an arrangement of green and yellow suggests leaves and enduring devotion. Inspired by one of Scotland’s most cherished love poems, this tartan is intended to honour romantic love, cherished remembrance, and a poetic soul. |
