| Registration notes: |
The Glasgow Space tartan was created by the Space Group of the University of Glasgow’s James Watt School of Engineering to symbolise the city’s leadership in spacecraft manufacturing and space innovation. The design is intended to reflect the unity between academia, industry, and the broader community engaged in space activities across Greater Glasgow. Colours: black is intended to represent deep space, the vast frontier explored by the spacecraft engineered in Glasgow; green reflects Earth observation, environmental awareness, and the city’s growing commitment to sustainable space technologies; blue symbolises knowledge, research, and engineering excellence at the University of Glasgow; soft pink is for humanity, openness, and inclusiveness, a deliberate contrast to the tones often associated with engineering or space and white is intended to trace the precision, clarity, and openness essential to scientific discovery and signal the inclusive ethos of the Space Group. |
